The benefits with United HealthGroup are fantastic and we are really encouraged to take advantage of them. The training period is paid and provides a good foundation for completing the job at hand. There are internal systems that need to be reviewed and updated. Internal phone numbers often route to the incorrect department and cause frustration and wasted time for employees and external callers alike.

I love working from home. I love the challenge of learning and conquering new things daily.
I would like to see less expensive healthcare for employees. United Health Group (UHG) is one of the largest healthcare providers, yet the average employer cannot afford copays and coinsurances.
UHG can also do better compensation wise. The amount of experience I have gained and the expert level at which I perform my work related duties should equate to higher pay and/or bonuses.

Very hard to get to another position unless someone you know above you wants to hire. Pay is not competitive. Tuition reimbursement is decent aside from them requiring you to work 2 years after using the benefit.

The company looks good on a resume and the work environment is flexible depending on which team you're on. The challenges with the company revolves around visibility and being promoted. It is incredibly hard to be considered a high performing employee unless you are in a clinical or call center role. The compensation model could also be significantly better. I also think that providing clearer information about career resources and pro bono/volunteering opportunities would be beneficial.

This job has many opportunities for you to grown in any field that is offered. They offer a wide variety of options of shift so you pretty much can have a life outside of the job.

Employed here 5+ years. In 5 years, I've seen a pay increase of $2.21. End-of-year bonuses decrease each year. For UHG to provide UHC health insurance to its employees, the premiums and deductibles are still outrageous. You have to stay in a position for 1 year before you can be considered for another role. PTO is good, mental health services are offered, standard 401k, internet provided for full time telecommuters, other good perks. The stipulations and limitations in the tuition reimbursement policy make me angry.

Great benefits, however, the staff (upper management) are very condescending and do not support growth. In order to advance, you would have to apply to different positions within the company.

When i started in 2018 this seem as a great company to work for. But when covid hit, my hold prespective a have changed. United health did nothing in addition to help their employees. My department did not allow flex schedule for those of us that have to assist our children with home school. No bouns or hazard pay given to assist with financial changes. They download software to monitor our every move on our computers. We were advised we should still be gratefull that we have a job with the ability to work for home. No compassion or empathy for employees. It took the Ceo of Ohio to mention something about Georgoe Floyd and black lives matter, before the departments and manager said anything to their employees. A diversity team was created, they only met twice and there is no black nor Hispanic on the panel. All white.

I work for Wellmed. It is by far the best organization that I have worked for. The staff is wonderful, kind, and caring. They treat each other just like family and help anyone in times of need. I hope to see this kindness continue for many, many years to come.

Very poor management. They micro manage you to the T and there's little room for input or change. I felt babysit the whole time I was employed.

United Health Group is a very diverse employer who offers both onsite and work from home opportunities. I have worked for the company for 15 years in various salaried positions while working from home. The company has allowed me the opportunity to advance internally and has also provided on the job training to assist me with doing so. Every time I have shared my opinions with management, they have heard and respected them without making me feel less than. I feel my salary and bonus opportunities are fair. My only concern is that the amount employees are expected to pay for health insurance could improve because deductiable amounts are currently too high.

I am a claims processor for Untied Healthcare, and I have worked here for over two years. This is less like a job and more like being part of a large family. The atmosphere is always positive and the people are so very nice. Compassion is a huge part of working for this wonderful organization. My office is in my bedroom and simply get up, pour some coffee turn on my computers (everything is provided ) and go to work. I love working at home, and I do really love working for United Healthcare, We truly are the very best in the markets that we service, and this is by far the best organization that I have ever worked with in thirty years of employment. I have gotten a BA at The University of Tennessee at Martin. The reimbursement was fantastic and I am now working a MBA in sports Management and another in Healthcare Management. I can only say thank you United, you are the very best and I appreciate everything that you do in the community and on my job.

I love the fact that each and every day we dedicate ourselves to serving our members. My role with the company is in member services where we take pride in demonstrating our core values of compassion, integrity, innovation, relationships and performance. Benefits are great and so is compensation.

I have been with the company for four years and it is an amazing company to work for. They work with my school schedule and also provide tuition reimbursement for all college students. My managers are always willing to help the staff to progress in there current role.

Overall my experience has had many ups and downs. I would encourage the organization to care more about their employees and advancing their careers and not be all about organizational politics.
